ECCO Royalties: Celebrating Your Creative Impact This Holiday Season
Posted: Wednesday December 11 2024

As the year winds down and the holiday season lights up, ECCO is thrilled to announce our upcoming royalty distribution for the year 2022. This seasonal payout reflects the incredible reach and impact of your music throughout the year. Your artistry resonates with audiences, and we’re proud to support you in transforming creativity into lasting value.

This holiday season, let’s take a closer look at how royalties are generated, celebrate your successes, and share an exciting initiative that underscores the power of music to inspire, connect, and grow.

How Your Music Generates Royalties

Every time your music is played on radio, performed at live events, or streamed online, it has the power to touch lives and generate income for you. Here’s how the process works at ECCO:

Music Licensing:
For a licensing fee, ECCO licenses your music to businesses, broadcasters, venues, event organizers, and digital platforms, granting them the permissions they need to play or use your music  legally and ethically. Through music licensing, royalties are generated.

Tracking and Monitoring:
No matter where your music is played—on the radio, during a live performance, or through a streaming service—ECCO keeps track of it. We monitor when, where, and how your music is used to make sure every play is counted. This helps ensure that you get the compensation you deserve for all the ways people enjoy your work.

Royalty Collection:
When businesses, broadcasters, and other music users pay fees to use music, ECCO collects that money and puts it into a shared pool. We then allocate the money to rights holders based on how often and where their music was used, according to detailed usage reports that we receive. This way, you get paid fairly for your creative work.

Royalty Distribution:
After dividing the collected money, we identify all the members and rights holders who earned from their music being used. Then, we distribute the royalties to everyone who is owed their share, ensuring everyone gets paid fairly and accurately.

What to Expect This Holiday Season

We’re excited to announce that the next royalty distribution will commence on Monday, December 16th, 2024.

Prepare for Your Payment:

  • Update Your Details: Contact the ECCO office via phone: 1-758-451-6436; WhatsApp: 1-758-285-0404; or email ecco@eccorights.org to ensure your banking and contact information is current.
  • Understand the Process: Royalties are calculated based on licensing and usage reports for your music. Holiday-themed songs, in particular, see a significant uptick in plays, making this a prime season for earning.

Thank You for Sharing Your Music
This holiday season, we recognize your vital role in creating the songs that define our celebrations. From all of us at ECCO, thank you for your dedication, artistry, and passion. Here’s to a joyful season and even greater creative success in the year ahead!
